Mirko has been the Dealer Principal at Canberra Toyota since 2011 and very proud of his team's continued achievements.

Mirko actively engages with our local charity organisations around Canberra taking part in the annual Vinnies’ CEO Sleepout with his team in support of our major partner of St Vincent De Paul Society to raise awareness and funds to help the homeless in the ACT region. We are also proud sponsors of Ronald McDonald House Charity Canberra, Marymead and Communities @ Work. Mirko is passionate about many sports including AFL, soccer and rugby league, having played all 3 over the years. As such, Canberra Toyota has established a great strategic fit with a number of our local sporting clubs such as the all-mighty Canberra Raiders, AFL Canberra, Cricket ACT, Gungahlin Eagles, the Belconnen Magpies, CBR Brave Ice Hockey Team and the GWS Giants.
Mirko is married with 3 children and his wife is an excellent cook! He’s also a keen martial artist for over 35 years, and an instructor for many of those in the Japanese style of Kyokushin. Mirko holds a a degree in business and speaks Croatian and some Portuguese.
Chris started with the company as a 4th year apprentice more than 35 years ago and worked his way through the ranks to becoming a qualified Technician to Workshop Foreman before becoming the Service Manager, at least once at every branch throughout the years.
With an abundance of experience and years on the front line, Chris and is team are the proud recipients of many Toyota awards and certifications as well as industry awards. He enjoys the challenges of managing the group’s service branches, and have great relationships with many of our loyal guests. Chris is a valuable asset to Canberra Toyota and his people skills are second to none.
Don was a pedigree race car driver in the 80s, and had raced in the 1991 Bathurst 1000 Touring Car Race for Toyota Team Australia. Being a veteran race car driver, Don was immersed in all aspects of the sport and the automotive industry. This provided him with a solid platform when he worked in the UK to further broaden his experience.
When Don joined Canberra Toyota in November 2011 from Cessnock Toyota, he brought with him decades of industry experience and knowledge. His motto of "Double, Triple Check!" ensures he goes above and beyond to provide his customers with a memorable experience.
Don is a big fan of cricket & rugby, and every November, he escapes to Fiji to catch up with old friends who also make it an annual ritual to get together and watch footy in their team colours. When you are in Canberra Toyota Phillip next time, drop by and say hello to Don.
Amir begun his profession in the engineering field after receiving his Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering 15 years ago. He progressed from being a Production Manager for petrochemical machinery workshops to Project Management and finally into a Sales Management position for cement plants.
His passion for sales, networking and human resource management saw him change to the faster-paced motor industry. After a couple years as the Sales Manager for Kia and Suzuki, Amir joins Canberra Toyota as our Sales Manager at Phillip. His belief in continuous improvement ties in well with Toyota’s Kaizen philosophy.
In his free time, Amir enjoys riding his motorbike, catching up with friends or simply just relaxing at home with the family watching Netflix or listening to music. When you are at Canberra Toyota Phillip the next time, do drop by and say hello to Amir.
Joel has been with group for 10 years now and has a strong sales track record prior to joining the auto industry. Joel also prides himself as a skilled basketballer, having won numerous local titles in the ACT.
In 2008, Joel started at Canberra Toyota as a Business Manager looking after Toyota and Lexus Of Canberra guests in Phillip. In 2011 he became the Group Business Manager and since, the finance department has doubled in size with 12 staff members reporting to Joel now. His capable team of Business Managers are all TFS, TFM, Macquarie, St George, Autome & VSA accredited. Joel also has an FSRA accreditation.
Joel is passionate in helping our guests realise their dreams and goals of buying a car, and tries his best to consistently exceed guest expectations.
Darryl has a genuine passion for Parts & Accessories having been in the parts business since 1978. Darryl joined Canberra Toyota in 1989 and over the years Darryl has successfully completed many Toyota coursers along with Certificate 111 in parts interpreting. Darryl also holds a Certificate 1V in Automotive Management.
Darryl is a dedicated manager and has led his team to achieve the Toyota Bronze Parts Excellence Award 16 times over the years and won the Toyota Silver Excellence Award 4 times as well.
Dominic commenced his career in the motor industry in 1989 as a retail salesperson with Canberra Toyota. Previous to this he spent 6 years at the Hyatt hotel in various roles including a period as the designated Hotel Butler a position which is expected to exceed guest expectations with exceptional levels of high quality service and attention to detail.
Dominic has had numerous roles with Canberra Toyota over the last 20 years including Business Manager & Sales Management for both Toyota and Lexus franchises and prides himself on his ability to genuinely help everyone that he comes into contact with.
Dominic is methodical and process driven and has received numerous awards over his many years with Toyota including the Regional Top Achiever Award for Guest Advocacy in 2015 and 2016. Dominic is a very keen golfer that has represented his home club in Canberra for numerous years in one of their Pennant Matchplay teams.
Lisa has been with Canberra Toyota for over 20 years now, and has worn many hats through the years. She started out as the secretary for the Dealer Principal and then progressed to sell aftermarket products before becoming a Business Manager. Eventually she stepped up into the Sales Manager role at Belconnen and from there progressed into the current HR and OH&S Manager role where she also champions Guest Experience and TFL.
Lisa coaches junior netball at Ginninderra Netball. As such, she is focused and results-driven. Lisa has an undergraduate degree in Office Administration, Return to Work Coordination and has a Diploma of Management. Through Toyota, she has received a range of certifications including Dealing with Difficult Customers, Strategic Guest Experience Management, Manual Handling Risk Management for Supervisors, Applied OH&S Management, Demystifying ISO 9001:2000 and Internal Auditor training. Lisa has also attended the Disney Institute to ensure we provide our guests with the best experience.
Brian started his career in the motor industry in 1985, working for AGC Limited where he progressed to State Credit Supervisor for the NSW Wholesale operations, before heading into dealerships in 1995.
Brian brings his extensive experience into the group in 2005. Brian’s role, is one of the positions that encompasses all companies under the group umbrella in the ACT. It covers 5 franchises over 6 sites with some 300 full time employees.
Brian enjoys playing competition darts with a group of friends and have done so for 25 years. He has resided in the ACT since 1969, with a small stint in Sydney between 1987 and 1991.
Heather has been with the group since 2000. She is hardworking, dedicated and manages the Accounts Receivable & Payable teams.
She has worn many hats in the Administration department over the years, and attributes her successes in working within a great team environment. Heather is an excellent coordinator and takes good care of her team.
