Mirko has been the Dealer Principal at Canberra Toyota since 2011 and is very proud of his team's continued achievements.
Under Mirko’s direction, Canberra Toyota has achieved the highest levels of customer satisfaction in both sales and service across all 4 sites. This has helped the Dealership grow its sales every year since 2011 and be recognised as a consistent ‘Top 20’ dealer nationally by Toyota Australia.
Mirko actively engages with our local charity organisations around Canberra. He is a now a veteran of the Vinnies’ CEO Sleepout having participated in 10 sleep outs and raising over $170K personally. In 2021 the Sleepout raised over $1M in Canberra alone! Mirko is also a board member of RMHC Canberra and SE NSW and a proud sponsor for over 7 years. Other charities that Mirko is involved with include Marymead and Communities at Work. Mirko is passionate about many sports including AFL, Football, Rugby League and the Japanese Martial art of kyokushin. As such, Canberra Toyota has established a great strategic fit with a number of our local sporting clubs such as the all-mighty Canberra Raiders, AFL Canberra, Cricket ACT, Gungahlin Eagles, the Belconnen Magpies, CBR Brave Ice Hockey Team and the GWS Giants.
Mirko holds a degree in business and speaks Croatian and some Portuguese.
Don was a pedigree race car driver in the 80s, and had raced in the 1991 Bathurst 1000 Touring Car Race for Toyota Team Australia. Being a veteran race car driver, Don was immersed in all aspects of the sport and the automotive industry. This provided him with a solid platform when he worked in the UK to further broaden his experience.
When Don joined Canberra Toyota in November 2011 from Cessnock Toyota, he brought with him decades of industry experience and knowledge. His motto of "Double, Triple Check!" ensures he goes above and beyond to provide his customers with a memorable experience.
Don is a big fan of cricket & rugby, and every November, he escapes to Fiji to catch up with old friends who also make it an annual ritual to get together and watch footy in their team colours. When you are in Canberra Toyota Phillip next time, drop by and say hello to Don.
Amir begun his profession in the engineering field after receiving his Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering 15 years ago. He progressed from being a Production Manager for petrochemical machinery workshops to Project Management and finally into a Sales Management position for cement plants.
His passion for sales, networking and human resource management saw him change to the faster-paced motor industry. After a couple years as the Sales Manager for Kia and Suzuki, Amir joins Canberra Toyota as our Sales Manager at Phillip. His belief in continuous improvement ties in well with Toyota’s Kaizen philosophy.
In his free time, Amir enjoys riding his motorbike, catching up with friends or simply just relaxing at home with the family watching Netflix or listening to music. When you are at Canberra Toyota Phillip the next time, do drop by and say hello to Amir.
Lisa has been with Canberra Toyota for over 20 years now, and has worn many hats through the years from an administration role, into sales and through the sales ranks to Sales Manager, then had a return to Administration whilst her children were young. Now those children are grown and independent, Lisa is back into her most demanding and senior role as General Manager of Canberra Toyota Belconnen and Gungahlin.
Lisa coaches junior netball at Ginninderra Netball. As such, she is focused and results-driven. Lisa has an undergraduate degree in Office Administration, Return to Work Coordination and has a Diploma of Management. Through Toyota, she has received a range of certifications including Dealing with Difficult Customers, Strategic Guest Experience Management, Manual Handling Risk Management for Supervisors, Applied OH&S Management, Demystifying ISO 9001:2000 and Internal Auditor training. Lisa has also attended the Disney Institute to ensure we provide our guests with the best experience.
Bin moved to Australia in 2007 as an international student and completed his Masters of Professional Accounting and Masters of Business at Australian National University before transitioning into the Automotive industry. Bin started his Automotive career as a Trainee Sales Consultant at Canberra Toyota in 2007. Over the years, he has progressed into a successful ‘hybrid’ role of General Sales Manager and Business Manager at Canberra Toyota Gungahlin.
Bin has a strong analytical ability and takes pride in his multi-cultural background as this has helped to build excellence on his sales performance and ensure guest satisfaction. Bin holds a strong passion for his joyful life in Canberra and has never moved since he first came to Australia. Bin enjoys movies, fishing and hanging out with his friends in his spare time.

Joel has been with the group for 13 years’ and ‘finance department has doubled in size with 15 staff members. Joel also prides himself as a skilled basketballer, having won numerous local titles in the ACT.
In 2008, Joel started at Canberra Toyota as a Business Manager looking after Toyota and Lexus Of Canberra guests in Phillip. In 2011 he became the Group Business Manager and since, the finance department has doubled in size with 12 staff members reporting to Joel now. His capable team of Business Managers are all TFS, TFM, Macquarie, St George, Autome & VSA accredited. Joel also has an FSRA accreditation.
Joel is passionate in helping our guests realise their dreams and goals of buying a car, and tries his best to consistently exceed guest expectations.
Darryl has a genuine passion for Parts & Accessories having been in the parts business since 1978. Darryl joined Canberra Toyota in 1989 and over the years Darryl has successfully completed many Toyota coursers along with Certificate 111 in parts interpreting. Darryl also holds a Certificate 1V in Automotive Management.
Darryl is a dedicated manager and has led his team to achieve the Toyota Bronze Parts Excellence Award 16 times over the years and won the Toyota Silver Excellence Award 4 times as well.
Gary grew up in the small country town of West Wyalong and worked at the Chrysler Dealership after school to earn some money. He moved to Canberra in the late 80’s and started his career with a Ford Dealership. Gary joined Canberra Toyota 15 years ago in the service department and is very passionate about the product and the people, so much so that almost everyone in his family drives either a Toyota or Lexus.
Gary is very passionate about is family and his community. He is the President of a Junior Rugby League Football Club and holds a seat on the board for the local competition. He is a team leader for St Vincent De Paul Society’s Night Patrol and takes part in the St Vincent De Paul Society CEO Sleep out every year. Gary’s other passions are camping, fishing and travelling with his family. Next time you are at Canberra Toyota Phillip Service, make sure you ask for Gary as he would love to meet you!
Born and bred in Darwin, Michael’s parents were commercial fisherman so he grew up on a commercial fishing boat for the majority of his childhood. He loves fishing, BBQ’s, 4 wheel driving, camping and the outdoors!
Michael started working in the Automotive Industry in 2008 with Patrick Auto Care in Darwin. His role consisted of unloading the car carrier when it arrived in Australia from Japan. The carrier typically contained between 700 – 1200 Toyota vehicles. Once the vehicles were unloaded from the car carrier, Michael would then complete pre-delivery inspections and fitment of accessories.
Michael left Patrick Auto Care in 2012 when he moved to Canberra and has been an essential part of Canberra Toyota since. He started his career with Canberra Toyota as an Accessory Fitter and gained extensive knowledge in regards to the process of pre-delivery, so it was only natural that he progressed into the role of Workshop Controller.
Michael become a Service Manager at Canberra Toyota Gungahlin in 2019. He has a genuine passion for cars, in particular Toyota, where he believes that it is the most trusted brand he has come to love and enjoy.
Brad started out as an apprentice technician in 2001 at Canberra Toyota Belconnen after finishing college. Brad worked hard and finished his apprenticeship as soon as possible, always looking for the next challenge.
Having learnt as much as possible during his apprenticeship, Brad moved into Vehicle Diagnostics where he thoroughly enjoyed fixing unique vehicle concerns. The more complex the better!
Whilst still training in Toyota diagnostics and achieving a Certificate 4 Light Vehicle Automotive, Brad was promoted to the Workshop Foreman position at Canberra Toyota Belconnen. Brad took this new role on and with his team they achieved some awesome results and the service department developed a great culture in solving many guest concerns.
Brad was then promoted to Service Manager at Canberra Toyota Mitchell. This role helped Brad grow personally and professionally, so when Canberra Toyota Mitchell eventually closed we could start a new Service and Sales branch in Gungahlin continuing our great trusted reputation.
Brad’s latest challenge is managing Canberra Toyota Fyshwick’s After Sales Operation. He now oversees 40 staff in the retail service department, pre-delivery/accessory department and used car preparation.
Brad is very proud of his career and says he couldn’t have done any of this without strong family support and his great team of staff members.
Dominic commenced his career in the motor industry in 1989 as a retail salesperson with Canberra Toyota. Previous to this he spent 6 years at the Hyatt hotel in various roles including a period as the designated Hotel Butler a position which is expected to exceed guest expectations with exceptional levels of high quality service and attention to detail.
Dominic has had numerous roles with Canberra Toyota over the last 20 years including Business Manager & Sales Management for both Toyota and Lexus franchises and prides himself on his ability to genuinely help everyone that he comes into contact with.
Dominic is methodical and process driven and has received numerous awards over his many years with Toyota including the Regional Top Achiever Award for Guest Advocacy in 2015 and 2016. Dominic is a very keen golfer that has represented his home club in Canberra for numerous years in one of their Pennant Matchplay teams.
Heather has been with the group since 2000. She is hardworking, dedicated and manages the Accounts Receivable & Payable teams.
She has worn many hats in the Administration department over the years, and attributes her successes in working within a great team environment. Heather is an excellent coordinator and takes good care of her team.
Tony has been with the group since 2020 and brings a wide range of experience and diversity to the Marketing role. He had a career in Sales and Account Management for 5 years with the Smith’s Snack food Company before becoming a franchisee for Subway from 2007 to 2019. He owned multiple Subway franchises in the Canberra region and was on the NSW / ACT Subway Franchisee marketing board for 5 years between 2012-2017. He is also a qualified drone operator and videographer and still has an active drone business that has been going since 2018 producing various forms of media for TV, Facebook, Real Estate and Motorsport.
A keen car and motor racing enthusiast, Tony competed in State and National level motorsport competition in his younger years and is currently active in go-karting with his son. Other interests include the NRL and martial arts having studied Judo and more recently Kyokushin Karate. Tony is passionate about his family and Canberra having lived here since 1987.
His role involves co-ordinating our marketing and media content including TV, radio, social media and print for Canberra Toyota plus other brands within the group. He also co-ordinates special events and manages our sponsorship activity.
Jo started with Canberra Toyota in 2021, having moved to Australia from the UK.
She has a passion for all things Guest Services, having spent her career so far managing teams in 5* hotels and Corporate Receptions in London. Building on her belief that it is an organisation’s people who make the difference, Jo started pursing a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management in 2019 and now combines her interests, taking care of Guest Experience and Human Resources for Canberra Toyota.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and entertaining, yoga and travel.
